Our 2020 vintage red wine is a single variety, light bodied red made from our rondo grapes grown here at Polgoon. It’s light and fruity with blackcurrant, redcurrant and plum followed by a smooth vanilla and spice finish. It’s wonderful when accompanied by Cornish charcuterie, pork dishes or cheese platters.
WINE MAKING
Our Rondo grapes are hand harvested then destemmed and pressed. The juice then goes through a cold maceration for at least a week before fermentation. The wine then goes through a malolatic fermentation. 11.5% Vol, 75cl, contains sulphites, vegan friendly.
Our orders are sent out in plain cardboard boxes with the bottles protected in a cardboard mesh system. This is very robust and ensures that there are no damages. Yorkshire Heart Vineyard produces wines from grapes grown at their own vineyard at Nun Monkton, near York. Their grapes are processed on–site in their winery, and they then have a 12-month fermentation and maturation period. They are then stabilised before filtering, bottling, labelling and packing.
This Latimer English Red Wine is made from 100% Rondo Grapes which gives this wine its rich deep red colour and black plum, blackberry and spicy flavours.
