To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon, Westerham Brewery are relaunching our Hop Rocket brand!
First brewed in 2013, their latest edition will be launched with Apollo hops in the boil. To commemorate the Columbia command module of Apollo 11, we will add Columbus hops, along with Centennial (to mark the half-century). A late hopping of Comet and Chinook will see the Hop Rocket off to the fermentation tank, where a generous dry-hopping of Amarillo, Citra and Simcoe (representing the three-man crew of Apollo 11) will add classic American pine and citrus notes to this 4.5% Session IPA.
A premium ale to commemorate the year 1965 when the Black Eagle Brewery closed, Winston Churchill passed away and Robert Wicks was born. Brewed to a similar recipe that Bill Wickett used for his last brew at the old brewery on 3rd March 1965.
Kent Northdown hops give a clean, refreshing full bodied flavour for which English ales are famous. Finished with Finchcocks’ Kent Goldings for flavour and aroma.
A strong ale, brewed to the 1938 strength and using the same ingredients as the original best selling bottled beer of the Black Eagle Brewery. We brewed this beer for the 2nd SIBA South East of England beer festival and the beer took the Gold Medal in the strong ales category. Since then Audit Ale has gone on to win a range of regional and national awards including Supreme Champion Cask Beer two years in a row.
Made with pale and crystal malts and huge charge of Kent Goldings hops.

MORE OF THE DARK STUFF!
Hearty comfort foods and cosy fires with dark beers to match are what we most look forward to as the temperature drops, so here’s a beer to fit that picture.
This one is a sturdy porter, brewed with a typically robust malt bill and balanced with Simcoe hops to create a nuanced, subtle hop character. You can expect smoky coffee aromatics, and dark fruit with a hint of licorice on the palate, and a touch of sweetness on the malty finish.
A SUPER FRUITY AUSSIE CORKER!
Sometimes it’s good to be able to taste one hop in isolation in order to be able to really appreciate it.
In this delicious single hop IPA we showcase the best of the Topaz hop flavour profile. Fresh resinous aromatics, juicy fruit and a thirst quenching citrusy bitterness matched with a rich malty base really hit the spot. Over the years we’ve brewed various single hop IPAs using the same recipe, only ever changing the hop: Topaz is the one which has stood the test of time.
The hop level in Maverick IPA is a little more trad than in our canned IPAs, being nicely balanced and integrated within the beer.
Lightly caramelized malts provide the central core, but the American Cascade is still the main attraction bringing grapefruit and floral aromas to the beer, which finishes with a clean, refreshing bitterness.
A DELICIOUSLY FRUITY GOLDEN ALE.
The idea behind this beer is that the flavours in the beer match the colours in the sky: Imagine a broad coastal sunset, with glorious deep orange and peach colours, and translate that onto your tongue!
The malt bill for this beer is moderate to support the Amarillo and Citra hops, without being overpowering. Expect delicious ripe Seville orange marmalade, and zingy pink grapefruit flavours, with fleshy soft fruit in the background to balance out the citrus.
Brewed using the finest Vienna and Pilsner malts and generous additions of Tettnang and Saaz hops. It is fermented cool and slow and then lagered for a full 8 weeks prior to release to allow the full flavour and character to shine. Clean, crisp and refreshing.
Brewed to acknowledge large scale movements of Continents relative to one another.
Won GOLD at SIBA South West Regional Bottle & Can Beer Awards 2021 in the Premium Lager & Pilsners category
Fun fact, umbra is the area of total shadow caused by the moon blocking out the sun’s light during a total eclipse; quite an apt name for a dark mild we thought!
This dark mild is true to type, being moderate in most aspects of its character. You’ll find it’s an easy drinking, medium bodied beer, with a subtle influence from hops and toasty, grainy malt flavours. It finishes clean, with gentle bitterness; enough to balance the delicately sweet malts, but far from being heavy handed.
Brightside's best-selling beer in both cask and bottle, Odin is a refreshing light-bodied pale blonde ale brewed with highly sought-after Citra, Amarillo and Summit hops.
A great session ale that shows fruity, citrus flavours and has a moderately bitter finish.
CHUCK IS A NAME WHICH SOUNDS JUST AS MUCH AT HOME BEING USED ON BURY MARKET OR A TEXAN RANCH!
American Brown Ale is their version of our traditional Best Bitter, being just a touch more bitter on the finish thanks to the use of US grown hops; in this case Cascade.
Roast barley, Crystal Medium & Dark, plus Munich are among the malts which give this beer its deep roasted malt flavours, burnt caramel and gentle malt sweetness, and of course its rich colour. It’s pleasantly refreshing with well integrated hop flavours.
A stunning New Zealand Pilsner created by Matthew Scorer winner of UK National Homebrew Competition 2019.
Clean, crisp flavours, rich in fresh hops and full of bright tropical fruit aromas.
Brewed using the finest Extra Pale and Cara malts and double dry hopped with an infusion of Chinook, Ahtanum, Nelson Sauvin, Cascade and Amarillo hops.
Expect an explosion of tropical fruits on the nose and insane hop flavours balanced with the Cara malt backbone.
In times of despair we all need our spirits lifted.
A rich, full bodied best bitter in the traditional Kent style. Finest Maris Otter pale ale malt and crystal malt for colour and richness. Hopped with local Kent Northdown and Finchcocks Whitbread Golding Variety and finished in the Hop Rocket with Progress hops from Scotney Castle and Goldings from Finchcocks hop gardenfor a full flavour and aroma.
Piney Sleight is brewed using a blend of Maris Otter, Munich, Vienna and Cara malts with a handful of flaked oats for smoothness. Mosaic and Simcoe whole hops give powerful hints of ripe mango, blueberry and passionfruit with a subtle pine forest aroma.
Piney Sleight is a local landmark at the top of Cheddar Gorge
A dark, malty red ale with nutty, roasted notes from the chocolate malt. This session bitter is hopped with Kent Target hops from the National Trusts hop farm at Scotney Castle and Finchcocks Kent Goldings. A satisfying and flavoursome pint.
Tasting notes by Adrian Tierney-Jones, author of the Big Book of Beer:There was a distinct swing of the compass about the nose, as it touched all points citrus sweetness (mandarin), earthiness and pungent hop sack. The palate carried a refrain of similar mandarin sweetness (orange jelly for adults), a muscular earthiness (think big Burgundies), a slight note of almond and a dry bitter finish. A Spitfire garnishes the pump clip and I can think of no better analogy for this beer than the purring beauty of that aircrafts Merlin engine when in full flight.
The result of a ‘Nightmare’ brew day that turned out awesome and went on to win CAMRA Champion Winter Beer of Britain. A massively flavoured four malt Porter now brewed to a gluten free reciepe.
A beautifully delicate but hoppy helles style lager. Hopped with German Hallertau Tradition and lagered a minimum of 4 weeks. Our best selling beer in the Tap Room.
Best selling beer at the Oxted Beer Festival 2018
Using a proprietary method we have been able to reduce the gluten content of the beer to less than the WHOs Codex Alimentarius determined level of 20ppm or less of gluten.
Multi Gold medal-winning bottle-conditioned Dark Porter with hints of roasted coffee and a creamy malt finish.
Brewed using the highest quality Pale Ale, Maris Otter, Chocolate, Crystal and Roasted Malts and hopped with a blend of English Northdown and Goldings whole hops.
